Disappointing. Expected more

This is a great book for beginners that really don't know the religion or history of Scandinavia or the Germanic peoples, but needs a place to start. The references are based in a modernist world view, rather than actual lore, with references from Christianized texts. Heavily based on the Asatru Alliances interpretation of the Old Religion with a "feel good, everybody goes to Valhalla" attitude, with modern rituals and teachings. My biggest complaint is the recognition of people who sound authoritative, but who really made up, or belong to groups,that made up, rituals, interpretations of runes, , and philosophies that have no historical basis. I will give them credit though, for not using Wolfsangel and the Black Sun.

Excellent book! This the most comprehensive book on Odinism that I have ever found. It contained details blots that could not be found elsewhere. This is excellent for beginnings as well as experienced Odinists/Asatruar. Hail the Gods and Goddesses!
