I love that there are smaller pictures in the back of the book...I'm thinking you did that so we could use for our cards or scrapbooking? Am I right? I really must commend you on the paper as well. Thought I'd have bleed thru with some markers but I didn't. Of course I did use an extra piece of paper behind my picture. I'm so impressed with this book. - Paula Meng.

This book was over a year in the making. Summer is my favourite time of year - and I live right by the sea. In my part of England, I see the English channel every day, and on a clear day, I see France when I travel to work. The sea is the most awe-inspiring thing in the world to me - it's brutal, beautiful, unforgiving, therapeutic, all rolled into one. As a child growing up, the beach played a massive part in my life - from days spent on the beach building sandcastles, to evenings watching the sun set with a beer in my hand. It will always be a major part of my life until the day I die. I wanted this book to include a diverse range of coloring subjects - not just pretty beach scenes. So I included some slightly more unusual drawings. My particular favourites are the tattooed pin-up style mermaid and the retro poster design - Everything is Better When You're Sitting in the Warm Sunshine. I've tried to cater for all levels of colourist - there are intricate doodled collections, shaded artistic pieces, and simple beach huts for you to really let your summer imagination run wild. Packed full of amazing seaside summertime drawings to colour

This is another great colouring book by Steve Turner "Squidoodle", it is full of inspirational beach themed drawings to colour. Some pages have 2 drawings per page while others have just one. The pages are blank on the left hand side making this great if you would like to remove the pictures. The pages are not perforated but if you take care they are easy to remove with a craft knife.
I usually colour my pages with copic sketch markers and for this reason I need to put a piece of cardboard under each picture so that the alcohol inks do not run through to the next page. There are lots of wonderful pictures of surf boards, flip flops, treasure, turtles, camper vans, carousel, mermaids, sun lounger, boats, beach hut, seagull, anchor, lighthouse, dolphins and lots more.
I was spoilt for choice in trying to decide which one to colour first but eventually settled on the crab, as my star sign is cancerian, it felt like a good one to start with :-)
I think Steve's personality comes through in the fun pictures he has chosen and also one of the pages near the back of the book I read the page for his fans from the adult colouring group on face book and he personally thanked everyone by name, that is a lovely touch. He also thanks his family for whom he is thankful for being his harshest critics and biggest fans.
I love his books and now have three of them already. They seem to be very spontaneously chosen and you never know what the next page will be so for that reason they are amongst my favourite to colour in. They are always interesting and intricate but there are those pages that are easier to colour as well.
There are 30 different drawings that are full pages and 30 of the same ones repeated on half a page (60 in total)
I have added a few photographs and will add more as and when I finish colouring them in.

Can't beat the beach!

This is one of my very favorite coloring books and I have many! I love the beach theme and the fun drawings. The pages are one sided so you can use markers if you like. The drawings are great and have lots of large spaces to color. Each picture is in the book twice- once full page and once half page. I like this idea as you can color the picture differently the seconded time around. I highly recommend for anyone that loves the beach!

Super cool

Amazing coloring book. I own more than 50 and this is currently my favorite. The paper is better quality than I thought it would be. There was little to no bleed through when I used markers. I haven't tried alcohol markers or watercolors on this yet but everything else under the sun I have done. I only put a sheet of paper behind to protect the next page. This book is really clean, the pictures are cool and all your colorings will come out great.
Love, love this book.
